Rui Minhós has a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences and a postgraduate degree in Regulation and Evaluation of Medicines and Health Products from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon.

A specialist in Regulatory Affairs by the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Association since 2009, he is currently Director of Institutional Affairs at Tabaqueira and was previously Head of Scientific Engagement for the European, Eastern European, Middle Eastern and African Regions at Philip Morris International (PMI).

Before joining PMI, he worked for several companies in the pharmaceutical industry.

Vitor Luis is the CIO at the Lisbon based BiG - Banco de Investimento Global.

He has a background in Business Management & Information Technology and coordinates the IT and Operations teams.

Focused on innovation, risk management, staff development and services integration,  he has a career of more than 20 years dedicated to the development of customized financial services targeting customer experience, financial literacy, customer engagement and streamlined design of operational processes.

He's an advocate that core business procedures must be deeply understood and under the control of internal staff through incentives on resource empowerment, autonomy, and the usage of productivity tools and service integration as drivers of process transformation.

Carolina Afonso

CEO, Gato Preto
Professor, ISEG

Carolina Afonso is the CEO of Gato Preto in Portugal and Spain and Professor at ISEG. 

She has worked for multinational companies such as L'Óreal, BNP Paribas, Toshiba and for AICEP in the Netherlands and the British Chamber of Commerce. In 2008, she joined ASUS as marketing director, a position she later held at Konica Minolta, as a member of the company's board. She has a PhD from the Complutense University of Madrid, a Masters in Marketing from ISEG and a degree in Political Science and International Relations from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.

She is a guest lecturer at ISEG and course coordinator at ISEG Executive Education. She is a member of the board of APPM - Associação Portuguesa Profissionais Marketing.

She is a columnist for Jornal Económico. 
In 2023, she was named by Forbes as one of the 50 most influential women in business in Portugal. She has published several books, the most recent being "Liderar", published by Leya in 2024. She has two children and is passionate about Fuzeta, in the Algarve, where she grew up.

Carlos Frederico Carvalho is the Innovation and Business Excellence Director at AstraZeneca, bringing with him extensive experience as an experienced manager of people, products, and businesses across different markets and countries. 

He is known for his flexibility, innovation, open-mindedness, and team-player attitude. Carlos is customer and result-oriented, having previously served as Global Sales Excellence Director (2019) and Global Effectiveness Lead, Biologics and Inhaled (2018), amongst other relevant functions at AstraZeneca.

Carlos Frederico Carvalho has a postgraduate in Marketing Management from Universidade de Lisboa and a bachelor’s in Applied Chemistry from Universidade Nova de Lisboa.

He studied marketing management for SMEs and law at UAL in Lisbon. Since 1998, he has been directly involved in IT, with regard to online media production and e-commerce projects.

João Miguel Mesquita has worked as a journalist and editor for Portugalmail, Terravista, Jornal Digital do Norte, Bitmagazine (Netmedia Group) in Portugal and Brazil, and Computerworld Portugal and CIO Portugal (Foundry IDG). He is enthusiastic about the impact of IT on the creative industries.
